Mindfulness Meditation

This site gives a decent description of the practice.

Personally I have a great deal of gratitude for the practice of Mindfulness Meditation. Along with the practice of yoga and gratitude, the trifecta of wellness.

I first began mindfulness meditation at the Pinewood Addiction Support Services weekly group sessions about 3 years ago. I faithfully attended this group for about 2.5 years. Followed up with an 8 week MBCT (mindfulness based cognitive therapy) program in the Autumn of 2016. Imediately after this I concurrently began attending weekly group practice at the 519 Church St community centre; which I still attend on about a monthly schedule.

The group practice has been instrumental in my being able to maintain some semblance of mental well being. It aids me on 2 fronts, simply practicing, plus it is exceedingly motivational for me to maintain my home practice.

Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness Meditation is an open community of meditation practitioners providing a welcoming space for all individuals who are interested in the practice of meditation.

The intention of Mindfulness Meditation is to cultivate peaceful living and wisdom by practicing non-judgment awareness in the present moment. 

We invite you to join the regular meditation sitting groups at The 519.

The meditation sessions are drop-in, there is no cost to practice, and the group sustains itself through voluntary work.

Mindfulness Meditation meets every Sunday of the month from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, and every Monday of the month from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, at The 519.
